Community Calendar 4 July 2008, Friday Fish Sandwiches** The will be a BENEFIT FISH FRY featuring the Bill Joyce Sandwiches at Eastside Park in Washington. Sandwiches will be sold at 5pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and at 11am on Friday the 4th. Proceeds go to the family of flood victim Wendell Wise of Elnora. Shoals Catfish Festival The 23rd annual Shoals CATFISH FESTIVAL will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There will be a parade plus food and lots of fun. For more information call 247-2828. Vincennes Lincoln Choir** The Vincennes Lincoln High School Choir Department is hosting its MINI SHOW CHOIR CAMP starting Tuesday, July 29th. camp is open to area students in grades 7 through 12. For details call 882-2268. County Fair Listings** Bartholomew County Linton Freedom Festival** The Linton FREEDOM FESTIVAL is a weeklong celebration that includes Indiana's largest July 4th parade. There will be a carnival, a cruise-in, live entertainment, horse pulls, fireworks, games and more. There is no admission charge. For details call 847-4846. Knox Co Humane Society The Knox County Humane Society is selling nachos, cold drinks and glow sticks as part of the Vincennes Fourth of July celebration. For more details call 882-0248. Alfordsville Christian Church The Alfordsville Christian Church is having its 4th annual Fourth of July CELEBRATION starting at 4pm. Activities will take place at Jeremiah Park on the south edge of Alfordsville. There will be games, Christian music, a free BBQ Pork dinner and fireworks. There is no charge to attend. For details call 644-7529. Holiday closings All city offices in Washington are closed in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. There will be no city bus or trash pick up. The Washington recycling center will be closed on both the 4th and the 5th. Residents with regular Friday trash pick up should have their trash ready by 7am on Monday the 7th. For more information call 254-4564. City of Washington** The City of Washington is having its annual July 4th Celebration at Eastside Park. The celebration goes from 5-10 Tuesday thru Thursday and starts at 12:30pm on Friday the 4th. The fireworks display starts at 10pm on Friday. Limestone Heritage Festival The annual Bedford LIMESTONE HERITAGE festival is from noon until 10:30pm with free admission for all. There will be a stone carving exhibition, ice cream social, a parade with a military flyover, live music plus fireworks. For details call 583-0383.
