Bridge Commish Stepping Down

Blaize Trial Continues

The Prosecution continued presenting its case in the Austin Blaize murder trial Wednesday. Blaize is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend's father. Authorities says Blaize shot Terry Monier in January 2013, in Fort Branch. Blaize turned down a plea agreement carrying a 65-year sentence last month. If convicted, prosecutors say they will seek life in prison

Northside Walmart Vote Expected

The Vanderburgh County Board of Zoning is scheduled to vote on Walmart's request to build a new super center on the north side of Evansville today. That public meeting starts at 4 p.m. at the Civic Center. The 31-acre property just off State Road 57 and Boonville-New Harmony Rd. is already zoned for commercial use and Walmart has requested to add a gas station and four out-lots. (MORE)

Posey Commissioners Will Take Over Harmony Bridge

The Posey County Commissioners made the big step Tuesday with the decision to take over ownership of the Harmony Way bridge from the White County Bridge Commission. By taking over control of the bridge connecting White County, IL to New Harmony, they'll be able to get federal money that can be used to repair and ultimately re-open the bridge. No timeline for reopening the bridge has been released

Gibson County Shooting Trial Underway

Tuesday was the first day of testimony in the Gibson County murder trial of Austin Blaize. Blaize is accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend's father, 47-year-old Terry Monier, last year in Ft. Branch. Brittany Jo Monier testified in court and described how Blaize allegedly spoke with her boyfriend at the time, Josh Webb, on the phone the night of the shooting. (MORE)
