Trial Coming In Case Of Fatal Westside Arson

The man accused of setting an apartment fire that killed three people on West Franklin Street will go to trial in Vanderburgh County, but his defense will argue that he has a mental defect. A motion was filed Wednesday morning regarding Christopher Compton's case. Two court-appointed doctors have now been assigned to evaluate his mental state. (MORE)

Not Guilty Verdict In EVV Shooting Case

After a jury deliberated for more than six hours, a not guilty verdict was reached in the attempted murder trial of Tony Ray Johnson Jr. Johnson was found not guilty in the shooting of Timmy Rice outside of Hammerheads Bar in downtown Evansville. Rice survived his wounds and testified in the trial. The jury did find Johnson guilty of criminal recklessness and criminal gang activity (MORE)

KY Grand Jury Will Not Charge Officers

Police officers who shot and killed a suspect in Madisonville, KY,  will not face criminal charges. A Hopkins County grand jury returned a 'no true bill' in the case. That means jurors did not find evidence of intentional wrongdoing. (MORE)
