WIN Energy REMC has announced opposition to the Environmental Protection Agency’s just-released regulations for existing coal-fired electric power plants.
In a statement released Tuesday, the utility says it's concerned about the impact the regulations will have on member owners.
Tom Gregory is CEO of WIN Energy REMC.
He says the utility supports a responsible energy policy that balances Hoosiers’ energy needs with environmental concerns.
He says the EPA’s new regulations threaten Indiana’s growing economy and could result in the loss of thousands of jobs, both in coal generation and from businesses attracted to Indiana because of its competitive electricity rates.
