Trail Features Southern Indiana Baseball Landmarks

A southern Indiana baseball stadium that was used in the 1991 movie "A League of Their Own" will be the official launch site for the Heartland Historic Baseball Trail that will pay tribute to baseball landmarks along the Interstate 64 corridor.

The goal of the trail is to drive tourism to the ballparks.

A celebration will be held May 30th at League Stadium in Huntingburg for the start of the Dubois County Bombers home opener.

Other stops along the trail will include the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame in Jasper, the Gil Hodges Mural in Petersburg, Gil Hodges Field in Princeton, Bosse Field in Evansville and the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory in Louisville, Kentucky.

Each site features a placard highlighting the significance of the landmark.
