Toyota Indiana recently donated 100-thousand dollars to 43 nonprofit organizations in Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois.
The Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana received money for its Get Moving Summer Outreach program.
The program is designed to focus on reducing the carbon footprint and learning about the impact on the environment through everyday activities.
In addition to financially supporting environmental education programs, a group of 20-25 Toyota team members and their family members will pick up trash along the two-mile stretch in front of the Princeton plant.
The event is one of nearly a dozen volunteer events that the company supports each year.
Team members also volunteer on their own time and are rewarded by the company for their efforts in the community.
