Tennessee Leads Nation in Low-Pay Workers

The Labor Department reports more than four-percent of U.S. workers earn no more than the minimum wage of seven dollars and 25 cents an hour.

The percentage is even higher in nine states, including Indiana.

Tennessee leads the nation is low-wage workers, followed by Idaho, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia, Indiana, and Mississippi.

The Labor Department says it isn't just teenagers who work minimum wage jobs.

About half of minimum wage workers are between the ages of 35 and 64.
