Reis Votes "No" to TANF Program

(Springfield, IL)  --  State Representative David Reis voted against a program that would have made it easier for drug felons to get cash assistance under the TANF program. The program is designed to help pay for things like food, shelter and utilities. Reis says while the state is facing a pension problem, increased public aid programs are really hurting Illinois.

The measure only received 36 votes on the floor while 80 lawmakers opposed the measure, so it failed.
