Pike, Dubois, & Gibson County Schools Receive Safety Grant Funding



Governor Mike Pence on Wednesday announced more than $9 million in grant funding to more than 250 local schools and school corporations across Indiana through the Secured School Safety Grant Program.

The Indiana Secured School Safety Board approved the grants.

In Pike County, the Pike County School Corporation was awarded $37,189 to employ an School resource Officer and for equipment.

In Dubois County, Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools was awarded $25,000 to employ an SRO; the Northeast Dubois County School Corporation was awarded $35,000 for equipment; Southeast Dubois County School Corporation was awarded $23,373.50 for equipment; and Southwest Dubois County School Corporation was awarded $50,000 to employ an SRO and for equipment.

In Gibson County, East Gibson School Corporation was awarded $10,602 to employ an SRO; North Gibson School Corporation was awarded $50,000 to employ an SRO and for equipment; and the South Gibson School Corporation was awarded $50,000 to employ an SRO.
