Ravings of a Mass Media Madman

Ravings of a Mass Media Madman

No Goofy Headline, Just a sincere thank you.

My style of editorial writing is usually to leave the word “I” out; to keep from saying “I think” or “in my opinion.” Words just flow better that way. But today, it’s not going to happen that way.

I hope everyone had an excellent Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanza/Festivus (Have I mentioned enough to be politically correct? Probably not.) And I also wish everyone a very happy New Year: may your resolutions stick as strong as duct tape.

2013 has been a good year for the Tiller clan. Most importantly, my wife and I welcomed our son Avery James in August. It’s also been the first time I’ve held a job for a calendar year, I think ever; and I’ll be honest, I’m very happy to be in Vincennes.

Vincennes has been good to my family. I’ve had the pleasure for the last two years of working alongside some excellent news people and learning about the community. I’m truly blessed to be here and be able to serve the people of Knox County.

No, I’m not leaving; just in case you were wondering (or hoping). I just really appreciate the opportunities I’ve had with The Original Company and I’m looking forward to serving the people here for as long as the Good Lord will allow me to be here.

It’s testament to the good people of Knox County that a young native Kentuckian can come here and feel welcome (I guess it helps that I’m a Louisville fan.) What’s even more impressive is that as I’ve gotten to know those I come in contact with, they really make me feel like I’m part of the community. I genuinely believe some of the greatest people of the world live in Knox County.

From the bottom of my heart, Thank you.

Now if we could just merge with Adair County Kentucky, I’d never want anything ever again.
