The Martin County Prosecutor has filed a murder charge against a Shoals man for the knifing death of his adult son. Martin County court documents say an autopsy found that 32-year-old Jonathan Tow of Shoals died from a stab wound to the neck that severed his carotid artery. Police arrested 60-year-old John Bruce Tow after he called 911 Sunday night to report his son's injury. The Bedford Times-Mail reports the elder Tow told police that he swung the knife at his son trying to scare him after a daylong argument. Authorities say the autopsy found more force was needed to inflict the neck wound than Tow described.
