For the first time, a woman will lead the Indiana Supreme Court. A judicial nominating commission has chosen Loretta Rush to succeed Brent Dickson as chief justice. Rush is a former Tippecanoe County judge and was appointed to the Indiana Supreme Court by Governor Mitch Daniels in 2012. Rush is expected to take office later this month when Chief Justice Brent Dickson steps down. Dickson will remain on the Supreme Court as an Associate Justice.
