Indiana’s Jobless Rate Falls to 7.5%

Indiana's unemployment rate dropped to 7.5 percent in October, the first time the state's jobless rate has been below eight percent since November of 2008.

Governor Mike Pence issued a statement Friday
saying that although the report is encouraging, too many people are still struggling.

Pence says the state must continue working to attract jobs and investment.

Daviess and Dubois Counties had unemployment rates of 5.1 percent in October.

Knox County’s rate was 5.4%; Martin County’s 5.6; and Gibson County’s 6%.

Pike County’s unemployment rate in October was 6.1%; Greene County’s was 7.5%; and Sullivan County’s was 9.6.
