You might not be able to buy those decorative bumper pads used to line a baby’s crib for much longer in Illinois.
House lawmakers have voted to ban the sale of crib bumper pads.
Representative Emily Mcasey of Romeoville sponsored the measure, saying they are a danger to infants.
She says they have been linked to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and are a potential risk of suffocation, strangulation, or entrapment.
The city of Chicago already has such a prohibition on selling bumper pads.
The senate will now consider the statewide ban.
