The Indiana Department of Transportation is calling its April "Trash Bash" a success.
The “Trash Bash” ended on Friday with over two thousand bags of trash collected in INDOT's Vincennes district.
Over 13-thousand bags were collected statewide.
INDOT spokeswoman Cher Elliott says great weather helped crews collect the trash from INDOT-maintained state and U-S highways, and Interstates.
Elliott says the “Trash Bash” got a big boost again this year from inmates at the Wabash Valley Correctional facility in Carlisle as well as other state prisons.
