The Indiana High School Athletic Association is investigating a complaint that Bedord North Lawrence students engaged in racially charged behavior at a girl’s high school basketball semistate game. Indianapolis Lawrence North High School complained some members of the Bedford student section wore gorilla outfits and safari gear at Saturday's game won by Bedford. Those in the gorilla costumes stood at the Lawrence North basket during warm-ups by the all-black Indianapolis team. Bedford’s athletic director says the students were asked to remove the gorilla costumes early in the game. He says the gorilla suits have been worn at games throughout the season.
