Former Lawrenceville Mayor Arrested for Meth Possession

Former Lawrenceville, Illinois Mayor Brian Straub has been arrested on meth charges.

Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies pulled over Straub's vehicle over the weekend after he reportedly failed to signal a turn.

During the stop deputies found meth and paraphernalia in his vehicle.

He's facing charges of possession of meth, possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia.

Straub is being held in the Lawrence County Jail without bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Lawrence Circuit Court October 22nd.

Straub served as Mayor of Lawrenceville from 2005 until this year when he was defeated by former City Clerk Don Wagner.
