Five Injured in Drunk Driving Accident in Daviess Co.
Indiana State Police say five people were injured Friday morning in a drunk driving accident on US 50 in Daviess County.
Police say 32-year-old Hsa Moo Thaw of Washington was eastbound near County Road 1200 East attempting to pass a semi-tractor trailer when he lost control of his car on slick pavement.
His car slid head-on into an oncoming pick-up truck driven by 44-year-old John McPherson of Shoals.
McPhearson was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville in critical condition with a fractured pelvis and leg and nose injuries.
Thaw was not injured.
However, Thaw was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, Causing Serious Injury; Three Counts of Operating While Intoxicated with Minor Passengers in the Vehicle; Three Counts of Neglect of a Dependent; Two Counts of Driving While Suspended – Prior, Causing Serious Injury; and Three Counts of Reckless Driving; A-Misdemeanor.
Four occupants in Thaw’s car were injured.
42-year-old Hsee Wawah of Indianapolis suffered a broken back.
7-year-old Me Me Titaray of Indianapolis suffered a Broken Shoulder and Clavicle.
And 4-year-old Hser Eh Thaw and 10-year-old Hsa Blut Soe of Washington received Abdominal Abrasions.
