Experts say the Emerald Ash Borer has arrived in Knox County. The invasive beetle feeds on ash trees, and makes them worthless for any other use. Vincennes Tree Board member Ryan Lough says property owners with Ash trees need act now to spray their ash trees to protect tem against the insect. The Tree Board will ask the Vincennes City Council to double its budget next year and in 2016 to cut down ash trees on city right of way. Tree Board members say its more cost effective to cut down the trees than to spray them. If the ash trees are cut down, they would be replaced with other types of trees.
