Daviess Community Hospital officials say they disagree with a health advocacy group's decision to give the hospital an "F" grade for preventable errors.DCH Chief Executive Officer, David Bixler says the grade given by the Leapfrog Group was based on outdated information and does not reflect recent quality efforts and successes.
The hospital has recently implemented a Computerized Physician Order Entry system, designed to catch errors in the prescription writing process.
Leapfrog faulted DCH for not having the system.
Bixler says the report also does not address increased efforts and programs to address bed sores or pressure ulcers, another area the hospital was given low marks for.
The Leapfrog Group says the score is comprised of 26 different measures, all focusing on preventable errors.
