Daviess Co. Clerk May be in Contempt of Court

Two Indiana attorneys say the Daviess County Clerk is in contempt of court for refusing to process marriage licenses for gay couples.

Sherri Healey‘s office says she will continue to deny licenses to same-sex couples for religious reasons.

This after U.S. District Court Judge Richard Young threw out the state ban on same-sex marriage.

Both Indianapolis-based attorneys Jack Crawford and John Tompkins say Healey is in contempt of court for not carrying out the law of the land.

Crawford says Healey could face jail time depending on the judge.
