The House passed a 694-million-dollar funding bill Friday night to provide increased security along the southwest border. A second measure passed looks to speed up the deportation of migrants flooding the border. However, the bills aren’t going anywhere since the Senate has adjourned for summer recess. 8th District Indiana Republican Congressman Larry Bucshon voted for the measures. Bucshon says what’s happening at our Southern border is a humanitarian crisis that requires an immediate solution. He says doing nothing puts the well being of innocent children and our national security at risk, and aggravates the problem with our already broken immigration system.
