3-Injured in Daviess Co. Accident

The Daviess County Sheriff's Department is investigating a two vehicle accident Thursday night in which three people were injured.

It happened at the intersection of Highway 50 and Maysville Road.

According to the accident report, 20-year-old Corinne Butler of Greenfield was southbound on Maysville Road when she ran the stop sign at US 50.

Her car was hit on the passenger's side by a car westbound on US 50 driven by 26-year-old Bryan Blubaum of Washington.

Butler initially refused medical treatment, but later checked into the emergency room at Daviess Community Hospital due to head pain.

Blubaum and a passenger in his car, 20-year-old Alicia Perkins of Washington, were taken to Daviess Community Hospital and then transferred to Saint Mary's Hospital in Evansville.

Blubaum complained of head pain while Perkins, who was ejected from the vehicle, suffered severe injuries to her upper body.

The sheriff's department says Butler was unfamiliar with the area and unaware the intersection was as close as it was.

Butler was cited for disregarding a stop sign.
