(indianapolis, IN) -- A bill to give a state tax credit for adoptions has overwhelmingly passed through the Indiana House Family and Children committee. The measure would grant the tax deduction to families who adopt a child in Indiana. The bill will now be heard by the full Indiana House.
Family and Children Committee chair Rebecca Kobacki says it will ease the strain on families seeking to adopt a child.
The adoption credit is one of the priorities laid out by Indiana Governor Mike Pence. Pence revealed his agenda during his annual State of the State address last Tuesday.
