Massive Drug Bust in Indianapolis
U.S. Attorney General Joe Hogsett calls it a massive drug trafficking organization.
So far, two-dozen suspects of Mexican descent have been arrested and charged in what's called, "Operation Five Dollar Footlong."
Hogsett calls it a sophisticated drug operation involving Mexican nationals who came to Indianapolis, sold drugs and shipped profits back to Mexico.
Hogsett says authorities targeted 16 people and property on the west side of Indianapolis early Thursday.
One suspect was shot and killed after he pointed a agun at police.
They seized about 100 pounds of marijuana and methamphetamine, seven firearms, 26 vehicles and $100,000 in drug proceeds.
