The first annual "Bras Across the Wabash" takes place today from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on both the Indiana and Illinois sides of the Wabash River.
Over 500 brassieres will be strung across the Lincoln Memorial Bridge as part of the event, sponsored by Good Samaritan Hospital and Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.
The event is designed to remind women 40 and over to get a screening mammogram.
Women are encouraged to get mammograms at the age of 40, unless they have a history in their family, in which case they need to start getting them sooner.
Various women's health screenings will be available through both Good Samaritan Hospital and Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.
